Services

Below are some of the counselling services that I offer. If there is something that you can’t find there, please feel free to contact me to discuss.

  • Relationships often come with their own challenges. It may be between married couples, work colleagues, families or friends. If you are worried about a relationship, or even just want to learn from a previous experience, or prepare for another, I can help. I will work with you to explore mixed feelings; provide clarity and acknowledgement; learn effective communication strategies; improve relationships and boost self confidence and self esteem.

  • Most people experience some level of anxiety at different times in their life; however, if you've struggled with anxiety for a long time, or your anxiety is overwhelming and you feel like you are losing control of your life, then it’s time to free yourself, get your confidence back and get your life back.

  • Depression is common, but it’s also treatable. Life is full of ups and downs, and sometimes a range of events that we experience can result in depressive episodes, feeling down, sad and hopeless. If you’re feeling unusual and prolonged sadness, you’ve lost interest in activities or hobbies that you previously enjoyed; you have constant tiredness and lack of energy; you’re experiencing feelings of helplessness, guilt and worthlessness, then it’s worth seeking support. Win back the life you want and deserve!

  • Self esteem is your opinion about yourself. It reflects how you feel about yourself. Low self esteem can negatively impact your life. If you find that you are generally very self-critical, or you consider yourself to be inferior to other people, or you are often socially anxious and tend to avoid social interactions, then you may be experiencing low self esteem. Together we can develop strategies to improve the way you see yourself and create positive thinking about yourself and your life.

  • Does something just feel off in your life and you can’t explain it?

Are you struggling to have fulfilling romantic or interpersonal relationships? Are you burdened by grief or loss, or by the end of a relationship? Are you in the process of a life transition that seems to be interfering with your happiness? For too long society has lived by a notion that men must be “tough” and ignore the feelings and thoughts that they experience. This causes many men to stifle and ignore what’s going on inside of them. If you just feel “not right” and can’t identify why, I can help decipher what you are feeling and together we can create a roadmap to happier living.

  • Stress is a part of daily life, and everyone experiences some degree of stress every day. Sometimes, however, stress can get out of control and become overwhelming. Stress can even feel life it’s taking over your life. Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by school or job tasks that even something simple like taking out the rubbish seems like an impossible task? Or perhaps you have trouble meeting deadlines, and you feel like no matter how much time and effort you invest, you’ll never be able to catch up on work or school tasks.

If left unchecked, stress can easily lead to burnout and depression. On top of that, numerous medical conditions can result from prolonged exposure to stress.

  • It’s common for couples to have difficulties in their relationship or marriage, and not everyone can maintain a strong connection with their partner throughout their marriage. Do you and your partner have the same fights over and over again? Do you find yourself wondering where the spark or connection has gone? Rather than having open communication, you “shut down” for the fear of another blow up? It’s time to turn things around.

  • At some point in life, most people will be challenged to decide the direction in life that they would like to pursue. This can happen when we are first starting out, or later on life with a feeling that your lifestyle no longer “does it” for you. Navigating this process can be tricky and at times people feel empty, lost and confused about their future. Life Direction Counselling can help clarify a direction, goals and strategies how to succeed in attaining them.

  • Coaching can be an effective way of improving performance in the workplace. It can improve interpersonal relationships, communication peer to peer and motivation issues. It can be used to develop self-awareness and personal responsibility for change, goal setting and improved emotional intelligence. Coaching can also provide analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of a client’s unique managerial style.

  • Have you ever wished that you could change a part of your personality? Have you ever tried, but found that it’s not as easy as you thought? Are there parts of your self that you would like to improve or further develop? Well, the good news is: you can! I will help you develop concrete strategies and pathways towards positive growth and becoming the person you want to be.
